Estonian start-up Cryplect changed its name and signed a contract with Turkish basketball league
Estonian sports-tech start-up Scorestars (formerly known as Cryplect) has reached an agreement with the Turkish basketball league (Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi). The Estonian company will build a bridge between favourite athletes with the likes of Fenerbahce, and Galatasaray. Scorestars has participated in Tehnopol Startup Incubator’s programme and is part of the Northbound Scaleups project.
After the first successful season with the Lithuanian basketball league (Betsafe-LKL), Scorestars has gained interest from multiple European basketball leagues. Its unique approach towards fan engagement and monetizing the leagues’ digital content, has been found appealing from all over Europe but Turkey took action. Now, the parties have signed a long-term contract and Scorestars can welcome the Turkish basketball fans to their virtual basketball home as the season begins.
Virtual basketball home means that the Estonian start-up will offer interactive gamification solutions as well as digital assets to local fans. These assets can be collected and traded within the community. Overall, the Scorestars.io platform will help build stronger connections between the fans and their favorite basketball clubs and players.
Marek Kesküll, CEO and co-founder of Scorestars said: ” We’re very excited to announce a multi-year agreement with the biggest national basketball league in Europe, the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi. Like the country, the Turkish Basketball League is a burgeoning power not just in Europe. The estimated digital ecosystem audience size is approximately 17 million, with fans closely following the basketball action. It’s a major milestone for Scorestars.io as we pursue our goal to build a compelling global sports community for fans. As passionate basketball fans ourselves, this partnership is something we’ve dreamt of since we founded the business. We’re incredibly excited and can’t wait to welcome fans to Scorestars!”
Due to the success in Lithuania and their future, the company is in the fundraising process and many Estonian investors such as Märt Lume (Futuclass’s co-founder), Taavi Einaste (Nortal), Haver Järveoja (Ready Player Me), Marti Soosaare (Stebby co-founder), and Roman German (Yolo Group ex CPO) have joined the team.
