2021 – a very successful year for Tehnopol Startup Incubator’s startups
A new year has begun but what are the highlights from 2021 for Tehnopol Startup Incubator? What can we expect from this year? Startup Incubator’s manager Kadri Tammai gives a brief overview.
LAST YEAR WAS A VERY SUCCESSFUL YEAR, DESPITE THE PANDEMIC
2021 is already behind us and what a year it was! We supported 83 early stage startups through our programmes, so that their products or services would reach the market. The best Estonian business mentors offered the startups their support and we helped them to get an amazing amount of investments – 2,5 million euros in total.
We all know that startups aren’t founded only in Tallinn, therefore I am especially pleased to say that for the second year in a row, we helped the starting businesses in Ida-Virumaa to spread their wings. Last year we established a five-step development programme there that will launch in full in 2022. We will also continue cooperating with our partners in Pärnu to offer a high quality incubation programme for people in Pärnu.
2022 – THE YEAR OF AI AND INVESTMENT FUND
Bring it on 2022! This year will be very exciting. We began the year with the new batch and we are expecting startups to apply until January 28! More information at startupincubator.ee/en.
This year we’ll be talking about AI and robotics a lot and we invite all companies to join the AI accelerator. This programme is for early-stage companies, for companies who are planning to change their products or services and introduce AI solutions, for those who are thinking about launching a new specialised spin-off companies. You can find more information about the programme at ai.tehnopol.ee/en.
If you are interested in finding new creative solutions in the field of green tech or health tech in cooperation with the public sector, then Accelerate Estonia will be looking for new teams. More information at accelerateestonia.ee.
Last but not least – we are planning to develop our programme further and offer even better services than before. Last year we established Tehnopol Ventures, this year we will also include an investment fund that will support the development of early-stage teams and give the investors a chance to be there before the others.
